Improving birth Improving Birth is a cross-section of the 9 out of 10 American mothers whose bodies and babies have been put at risk by non-evidence-based maternity care. All of us come to this cause with a passion born from experience. All of us have seen what outdated, unscientific care does to mothers and babies. Those of us who haven’t been pressured into procedures, practices, or drugs that increased health risks to us and our babies, well, we’ve seen it happen to our friends and family. In 2012, Improving Birth grew tremendously. We started as a local group of moms from San Diego and expanded to thousands upon thousands of supporters, contributors, and members—not just in the United States, but around the world. Our leadership team expanded to bring even more strategy and talent to our organization, and amazing volunteers stepped up to help us reach our goals. Improving Birth
